Raintree Village offers a wide range of youth development programs including a Transitional Living Program for teen girls and an Independent Living Program for teen boys and teen girls. Both community based programs teach teens how to be independent using two highly acclaimed training modules: "Parents as Teachers" and "Ansell-Casey Life Skills". Both programs seek to be egalitarian and flexible, while providing comprehensive services and holistic care. The Transitional Living Program is housed in the Cyprus Cottage, and is for teen girls ages 19 to 21 years. Using "life coaches" as mentors, supervisors and trainers, the TLP focuses on education, employment, and basic life skills training. Teen girls in this program must attend school full-time, work full-time or a combination of the two. The Independent Living Program seeks to serve teen boys and girls ages 14 to 17, by training in basic life skills. This is an evidence based and strength based program empowering teens, while fostering a sense of personal efficacy that encourages youth to want to effect changes in their lives. |
